SUMMARY:Hope in Hospice
DESCRIPTION:Hospice does not mean giving up. Patients\, families and a hospice work together to develop plans that consider health\, spiritual wellbeing and family. Hospice care extends beyond the resident to their family\, friends and community. The intention of a hospice program is to offer comfort and care\, focus on quality of life\, and offer support. \nJoin Nina Page of Acclaim Health in an interactive discussion on finding hope in hospice. \nFeatured Speaker: Nina has been a pastoral\, palliative volunteer at Allendale LTC for over 20 years and in 2012 accepted the position of Chaplain. Nina was ordained a Vocational Deacon in the Anglican Church in 2012. Nina studied at the Toronto School of Pastoral Care and was accepted into the College of Psychotherapy in 2016\, started as a volunteer with Acclaim Health as a co facilitator for Spousal Loss Bereavement Support Group and was offered a permanent part time position as a Bereavement Counsellor in 2017. Since then Nina has been part of the team of Hospice and Bereavement Counsellors at Acclaim Health and in 2019 was invited to be a Bereavement and Spiritual Care Counsellor.
