DESCRIPTION:Based on the success and popularity of our last session\, the Townsend Smith Foundation will be returning with another death cafe! Join us for a group-directed discussion where participants are free to explore their thoughts\, feelings\, and experiences about death in a respectful and relaxed environment. Registration is required as spots are limited. Registration is free\, however donations are always welcome. We would encourage you to support our hosts by purchasing refreshments at the venue. \nA Death Café is a group-led discussion about death. The goal of these spaces is to encourage and normalize conversations about this universal\, yet not often talked about\, experience. By becoming more aware of death\, we can better appreciate and make the most of our finite lives. \nThis event will be facilitated by Anne Stewart\, TSF Volunteer and founder of Holding Space Halton and the Townsend Smith Foundation\, and provides a welcoming space for open-ended conversations. There are no formal agendas\, objectives\, or themes – just an opportunity to explore death as a natural part of life\, reflect on personal perspectives\, and connect with others over a topic that is often overlooked or misunderstood. \nReserve A Spot

SUMMARY:Lauraine Andrew's Birthday Fiasco
DESCRIPTION:On February 20th 2026\, Lauraine Andrews turns 80 years old\, and although she sees the ‘aging’ as a bit of a crime\, she plans to ring in 80 years with some silliness\, fun and laughter. \nLaurie’s event will take place at Troy’s Diner (295 Main St E\, Milton ON\, L9T 1P1) from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. \nShe will be imprisoned for 8 hours\, one hour for each decade of her wonderful life. In order to ‘bail’ her out\, please visit her during these hours and support her by making a donation payable to the Townsend Smith Foundation. Cash\, cheques and e-transfers to events@townsend-smith.ca will be accepted (In the E-transfer please state the event name\, your name\, and contact information in the message section for accurate receipting). \nShe will be giving out coffee and a cupcake to each patron that donates towards her bail. \nYou can also support her by making a donation to this event fundraiser throughout the month of February.
